149 candidates selected from different parts of the country competed in the final round which will result in those who will be awarded and those who will receive annual training to improve their skills in their chosen field.
This Thursday, the date of November 24, 2022, is the last competition at the national level.
Art Rwanda aims to find and support talented young people. It is a national competition for talents in Art, Song and Dance, Fashion, Drama and Comedy, Film and Photography, Poetry and Literature.
The Second Round of Art Rwanda- Art Competition was officially launched in Rubavu District on June 10, 2022. The primary qualifiers started in the East, where on August 16-18, 2022, the contestants met in Kayonza.
After a nationwide tour, 149 artists were selected to reach the pre-final stage. These are the contestants and 10 from each category will be selected from which one will be awarded. The singer, Safari Ismaël, is one of the contestants today.
In front of the panel of judges, he demonstrated his skills in singing the songs of Karahanyuz. This young man from Rusizi sang “Rwaranyeme” which he wrote and “Peace at the tree of man” by Nkurunziza François.
Nshimirimana James is a professional photographer who has shown his talent in photography. He explained that he mainly focuses on photos that show old times in the history of Rwanda that have a certain meaning.
The young man showed the photos he took, which he called “Together we can” of street children who hope that their future is better. Thanks to Andrée Lucette, a promising fashion model, she also showcased her crocheted clothes.
His clothes can be used in hot or cold weather, artists can wear them to dance or to shoot music videos and other activities. ArtRwanda – Art is a project of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, which is implemented by the Imbuto Foundation, in finding young talents and supporting them to the point where they can support their owners.
It is planned that the ceremony to reward the winners will be held at the Kigali Convention Center on Thursday, October 25, 2022. The top three artists in each category will be awarded 1 million Frw while the top three projects will receive 10 million Frw each.
