Job updates: Sustainable Urbanization Project Manager in City Of Kigali

Job responsibilities

• Coordinate all program activities related to the sustainable urbanisation Project • Manage contracts, consultants/contractors progress and quality of deliverables, payments claim related to the above-mentioned project. • Propose the effective planning and coordination of projects under the sustainable urbanisation project.

• Ensure projects under implementation are in full conformity with the Development Partners’ and GoR agreements and timely implemented; • Supervise day-to-day management of projects, including supervising and monitoring the progress and challenges and report regularly; • Planning the work and efficiently organizing the project in order to meet agreed deadlines and providing advice to resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise; • Prepare and facilitate donor’s supervision missions; • Mentor colleagues by sharing knowledge in sustainable urbanisation; • Support capacity building in contract management of staff that deals with projects’ operations with emphasis on Development Partners’ procedures;

• Prepare periodical and situational progress reports on projects; • Ensure project activities are carried out in adherence to sound social and environmental safeguards. • Ensure project activities are carried out in adherence to climate resiliency throughout project lifecycle as well as ensuring traffic safety and gender inclusiveness. • Reports to SPIU Coordinator • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by a competent authority.

Qualifications

  • 1Bachelors in Urban and Regional Planning8 Years of relevant experience
  • 2Master’s in Architecture5 Years of relevant experience
  • 3Master’s in Civil Engineering5 Years of relevant experience
  • 4Master’s in Urban Planning5 Years of relevant experience
  • 5Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering8 Years of relevant experience
  • 6Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning5 Years of relevant experience
  • 7Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture8 Years of relevant experience
  • 8Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning8 Years of relevant experience

Required competencies and key technical skills

  • 1Leadership skills
  • 2Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/or French. Knowledge of all is an added advantage.
  • 3Understanding of Government policies related to Infrastructure development
  • 4Communication skills

  • 6Teamwork skills
