
Legal Affairs Specialist
Job description
Legal Affairs Specialist carries the following roles and responsibilities:
- Assist in the process of drafting new Legal and regulatory Instruments needed by the Ministry to achieve its mandate;
- File existing Legal and Regulatory instruments that legislate and regulate activities in the public investment Sector, for ease of reference;
- Conduct legal research, develop policies and amend laws & orders for the effective and efficient public investments and privatization;
- Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the Ministry;
- Conduct legal research and participate in the development and amendment of laws and orders related to business to ensure conducive business environment;
- Draft and review contracts that define working relationships between the Ministry and Service Providers as well as suppliers;
- Providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal activities;
- Prepare Cabinet Papers/notes and related policy briefs for Cabinet approval;
- Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the supervisor;
- Perform any other work-related responsibility as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Diploma in Legal Practice3 Years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Diploma in Legislative Drafting3 Years of relevant experience
- Master’s Degree in Law with Diploma in Legislative Drafting1 Year of relevant experience
- Master’s Degree in Law with Diploma in Legal Practice1 Year of relevant experience
